Why should you learn Rust as a Devops engineer?

As Devops engineers, we work with a lot of languages like shell, ruby, python and even YAML. Some of us reach for the bigger guns like Go. I am here to make the case as why we should use Rust as the language of choice for building our tools. While Rust is known as a replacement of C++ and is viewed as a systems language, I submit that Rust is actually a pretty high-level language offering the performance characteristics of a language like C++. This talk will look at some of the tools like terminal user interfaces and kubernetes operators in Rust.
