One of the most profound effects I experienced while serving in uniform was the impact of post traumatic stress. Being geared to serve others at times leads to a 'hero complex' which can negatively influence and erode trust within a team. I offer personal stories to illustrate how this can happen and suggest counter-measures to mitigate 'hero' behavior. I also include some behavioral indicators to look for within the team.
Prerequisites
I willingness to entertain divergent views from different careers.
